How Relaxation Works
Breathing & relaxation exercises can help with reducing anxiety and making you feel more able to deal with issues that cause the anxiety.
It is important to note that these provide temporary relief and do not substitute longer term treatments in recognising the root cause of anxiety and dealing with it through therapy and or medication.
Relaxation Sessions
At Oaktree, you will meet with a therapist for between 6 and 20 weekly or fortnightly sessions, with each session lasting 30 minutes.
Your therapist can be any healthcare professional who has been specially trained to provide relaxation sessions.
One of the biggest benefits of having relaxation sessions with a therapist is that after your course has finished, you can continue to apply the principles and techniques learned to your daily life. This should make it less likely that your symptoms will return.
